Naturest Milfontes

Naturist news from the Alentejo, Portugal, May 2011.

Sharing the beach!

Easter Monday, 25th April, was a bright sunny day so we went to one of our local beaches with a couple of guests. Being a public holiday, we had half expected the beach to be quite busy. There was hardly anybody at Praia do Malhão (Aivados)* except for some sea anglers, who seemed quite content to share the space with naturists.

"Barely a cloud in the sky, nor a soul on the beach."                                         "That wave caught them by surprise.".

Furnas Beach.

On fine sunny afternoons in May, we often found ourselves on Praia das Furnas (Sul)* with our guests. We frequently had a whole cove to ourselves, where, whilst some wanted shade, others could soak up the sun on the other side of the beach.

"Full sun or shaded by the cliffs, take your pick."                                             "South Furnas beach with Vila Nova de Milfontes across the estuary."

New boules terrain?

With no space for a competition size boules court at our new home, we took advantage of having a cove to ourselves at Praia das Furnas and turned it into a boules terrain one evening.

* Praia do Malhão (Aivados) and  Praia das Furnas (Sul) are public beaches, both just a few minutes drive from Naturest Milfontes, where nudism is accepted. It is hoped that sections of these beaches will soon be adopted as Official Naturist Zones under the new law (Lei n.º 53/2010 de 20 de Dezembro) governing naturism in Portugal.
